"Help me to help myself" — the subconscious cry of every child, as Dr. Montessori so beautifully expressed. Each day, children engage in meaningful, hands-on activities that build independence, focus, and coordination. Whether pouring water, tying shoes, or preparing food as part of their practical life activities, they develop confidence in their abilities and pride in their accomplishments.

Time spent outdoors is a happy and important part of each day. We put on our coats and wellies everyday - to experience all of the wonderful elements of the changing seasons. This is a special time to have such fun with friends and allow their wonderful imaginations to come to life. These experiences can also cultivate mindfulness, gratitude, and a sense of responsibility for caring for our planet.

Exploring the Wider World

Children are naturally curious about the world around them. In our multicultural classrooms, they not only explore the globe through Montessori geography, history, science, art, and music materials — they also value and respectfully learn from one another. Each child brings their own family traditions, languages, and customs, enriching the community with real connections to cultures from around the world. Through these shared experiences, children come to understand the richness of humanity and the beauty of both our differences and our shared values. This global perspective nurtures empathy, respect, and an enduring sense of wonder.

About Us

Established in 1993, Children’s House Montessori is the longest-established Montessori school in Killarney. Family-owned and operated, we take pride in our legacy of fostering a love for learning.

Our founder, Carol, was inspired by the remarkable insights of Dr. Maria Montessori and driven by a vision to redefine education through the Montessori philosophy. Carol's life motto encapsulates her work and values: “Do what you love, love what you do to make a difference.” This simple principle resonates with a core Montessori belief—when you follow your passions -   fulfillment naturally follow.
