Information on Government-Supported Schemes

Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE)
We apply for the ECCE Government grant on your behalf

Early Childhood Care and Education is available for two years, for three hours per day, 5 days per week for 38 weeks per year over 10 months.

Your child is eligible for ECCE when they reach the age of two years and eight months by the first of September of the year when your child is due to start with us.

There is an extra charge for our longer morning session for the hours outside of ECCE; National Childcare Scheme (NCS) subsidy can be applied to support these hours outside of ECCE hours.

The additional amount charged outside of ECCE hours varies based on your individual NCS subsidy assigned to your child (See more detail on NCS below)

ECCE forms will be emailed to you prior to your child’s start with us.

On this form the Government will need your child’s PPS number and full name that appears on their birth certificate.

This capitation received is paid directly to Montessori House of Children.

If your child has not yet reached two years and eight months by September 1st, they will  be eligible to apply for the NCS, National Childcare Scheme only for all hours they attend.

If your child has reached 2 years and 8 months by September 1st our afternoon session costs are completely covered by this ECCE grant.

National Childcare Scheme (NCS)
The good news is for the first year ever school fees will be less than before as a result of changes to the NCS subsidies in Budget 2024.

As the child’s parent is the applicant for National Childcare Scheme (NCS), YOU are responsible for managing how it is rolled out throughout the year.

This subsidy comes directly to Montessori House of Children in real time (there is no option to back date) so it is important for us to have received your ‘CHICK’ code before starting with us.

When we deduct the NCS subsidised amount from your child’s school fee. We will let you know what you owe in fees. These can be paid per month or term in advance.

Your child’s individual ‘CHICK’ code offering will have a specific allowance or subsidy towards hours attended. It will also state your child specific NCS end date.

Each child’s subsidy is different, so fees outside of ECCE hours vary depending on your child’s NCS subsidy allowance and attendance.

Please ensure that we have your child’s unique ‘CHICK’ prior to their start with us.

NCS subsidy may be used for extra stay and play hours and camps that we run during Easter and Summer holidays, as optional extras.

You will get a reminder for your child's ‘CHICK’ ending and renewal dates. It is really important that you action this when you get the reminder, otherwise full fees will apply. We do not get this reminder.

This NCS deduction is administered on the Government Hive Portal, on line, in real time and cannot be backdated. We manage this on a weekly basis on your behalf.
Please click the link below to learn more about NCS or visit their website https://www.ncs.gov.ie. There is also a Parents Support Centre on 01 9068530 from 9-5pm Monday to Friday for more information.
